About Behavioural disorders

About Behavioural disorders

Hyperactive kids can be a worry.

If your child is hyperactive, as a concerned mum or dad, you may be wondering what you can do to improve behaviour. Not only does hyperactivity cause problems in the home, but it may be affecting your child’s friendships and progress at school. An increasingly common approach is prescription medication, but this comes with its own problems of side-effects.

However, a safe, gentle and effective alternative is now available in the form of Kindinorm®.

Problems with behaviour are distressing for the whole family

Behavioural disorders are not just about kids being hyperactive. Problems can show up in a variety of different ways, depending on age. However, it is clear that the effects on the child, the family and friends can be significant: disruption, stress and exhaustion.

Very young children, may be constantly restless, reject physical contact, and have difficulties sleeping or feeding. Toddlers, not yet fully able to express themselves effectively, can resort to outbursts and temper tantrums. When playing, they are easily distracted.

Once at school, problems can include increased physical restlessness and breaking social or classroom ‘rules’, such as talking excessively, blurting out answers or interrupting. Being easily distracted and having difficulties in paying attention, may also often lead to mistakes in school work.

Whatever the symptoms are, it is worth discussing your concerns with the doctor. Treatment options include introducing calming, supportive behaviour into home life, or counselling. Use of prescription medication has grown in recent years, but like many other parents, a natural alternative may be your preferred choice.
